According to the information center of the Ministry of jihad-Agriculture, quoted by IRNA, the government is going to: implement 70% of west rivers systems (tropical region) by the end of this year with at least 138,000 hectares of new water lands; and to complete the 46,000 hectares of Sistan plain, structure of production support, commercial production activities, greenhouse construction activities, fish ponds and modern fruit gardens, along with the precise management of water resources. 

The government wanted to also begin the second phase of the remaining 550,000-hectare of Khuzestan and Ilam projects following a recent agreement between the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture; also to revitalize the Iranian chicken line project with Iranian experts; and to increase production of basic products of the country including wheat, barley, oilseeds, forage, with special emphasis on new technologies, while saving considerable amount of water consumption by using the experience of the past four years.
