Royal jelly production in Iran

A 70% increase in royal jelly production in Iran

According to the information centre of the Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture, quoted by IRNA, in the opening ceremony of the Second International Congress and the 10th Iranian Bee Research Congress, Morteza Rezaiee, told: Given the variety of bee products, we are now approaching the creation of a honey refinery, because every bee product has a world of wonder in it.

He described honey bee venom as another by-product of beehives. All the products obtained from the colonies are expensive, and the price of a gram of bee venom equals $ 80 to $100, equivalent to a barrel of oil. Rezaiee added: Although Iran ranks 3rd or fourth in the world in beekeeping, we have to have advancement in other bee products that require direct communication with academics and the use of research in this important field.

He said that by mixing beekeeping with scientific research, both the beekeeper and the country would benefit from the results. He then added that: Royal jelly is a protein secreted from the hypopharynx and lower jaw of the working bee.

He finally mentioned that: The queen bee diet has various biological properties useful for human health such as: antioxidant activities, antibacterial effects, enhanced immunity and anti-tumor effects.
