The Director General of the Office of Fisheries and Fisheries of the Fisheries Organization of Iran said: 1311 tons of bony fish caught in the Caspian Sea compared to the same period in 2019 shows a decrease of nearly 21 percent.
Mokhtar Akhoundi mentioned the following factors: cold weather, environmental pollution in rivers and illegal fishing as reasons for reducing fishing.
Regarding the release of juveniles in the northern provinces, he said: Over the past five years, every year about 300 million juveniles have been released into the rivers leading to the Caspian Sea.
He also pointed out that in recent years, with the participation of fishermen, the reproduction and release of juveniles is done, and also added that: 20 to 25 million pieces of white juveniles were released annually with the participation of fishermen in rivers.
