Development of Iran-Vietnam agricultural cooperation


According to the Information Center of the Ministry of Jihad-Agriculture, Abbas Kashavarz, Head of the Ministry, in a joint meeting with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam stated that: Iran's and Vietnam's agricultural sector has been cooperating for a long time in the field of agriculture and we are looking forward to developing the two countries' agriculture.

He also added that: Introduction to development is to prepare and sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Animal and Plant Quarantine and Fisheries Cooperation, which has been drafted. Keshavarz has continued: Our country has a good export capacity with respect to horticultural products such as kiwi, dates, grapes, pistachios, cherries and pomegranates. Then he mentioned: My request is to evaluate the entry of these goods so that Iranian businessmen can become active in this field.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam said: We see great opportunities in the field of agriculture in Iran and there are good opportunities for both countries in this field. He also mentioned that: Both ministries must work together to boost exports and imports between the two countries, Iran could be a gateway to the Middle East.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam noted: By signing these partnership documents we can also start activities on animal health and plant protection.

At the end of the meeting, a draft memorandum of understanding between the two countries on plant and animal quarantine was signed by representatives of Iran and Vietnam.
