World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) declaration on avian (bird) influenza (flu) avoidance in Iran


According to a report from the information center of the ministry of Jihad- Agriculture, and based on the information, quoting the public relations of the veterinary organization of the country, Dr. Alireza Akbar-shahi, the director general of the office of poultry health and management of the organization announced today, citing the office website of OIE, Iran’s cleanup of bird flu is registered now on world health organization website.

Dr. Akbari, at the veterinary organization of the country, referring to poultry vaccination programs in laying poultry and turkeys, said: so far, 65 million doses of vaccine have been imported into the country to vaccinate bird flu outbreaks, exceeding 50 million doses in four high risk provinces.

Director general of the office of poultry health and veterinary administration of the national veterinary organization, about the vaccine needed for vaccination said: The GIS system will soon be able to accurately monitor all stages of the vaccine distribution from import to consumption in farm units, and this system will be able to monitor vaccines in the near future, as well as accurately monitor their usage.
